In 1991, destiny beckoned as Denis inherited vineyards and founded his eponymous domaine in Gevrey-Chambertin, crafting wines that captivated aficionados and fellow vintners alike. Arnaud joined his father, immersing himself in the art of winemaking until tragedy struck with Denis' untimely passing in 2006.
Determined to uphold his father's legacy, Arnaud embarked on a quest for excellence, refining Mortet wines to new heights of elegance and finesse. Embracing innovation, he revolutionized vinification techniques, including the labor-intensive practice of whole cluster fermentation, elevating Mortet wines to unprecedented levels of refinement.
In a serendipitous turn of events in 2016, Arnaud seized the opportunity to expand Mortet's domain, acquiring additional plots in Gevrey-Chambertin. Collaborating with his sister Clémence, they steward these vineyards with the same dedication and precision as those under the Denis Mortet label, producing benchmark wines that epitomize Gevrey's finest terroirs.
