Bernard Zito is based in Saint Nicolas les Citeaux, a small village just a few kilometers from Nuit Saint-Georges. Bernard's journey has been intertwined with the vineyards from the very beginning. He started in various cellars in Beaujolais for 5 years before settling in Burgundy in 1983. From 1987 to 2005, he served as the viticultural manager for domains within the Boisset group (including Domaine de la Vougeraie), before transitioning into brokerage in 2008.
Today, he manages his vineyard and wine consultancy business throughout Burgundy, alongside his brokerage activities focused on small-scale Burgundian wine producers. Since 2010, he has been cultivating 60 ares of vineyards and sourcing grapes from select vineyards. Bernard Zito specializes in crafting micro-cuvées, producing around 4,000 bottles annually, focusing on terroir-driven wines that reflect the unique characteristics of each vintage and grape harvest.
His approach prioritizes the utmost respect for the harvest process and employs synthetic-free viticulture practices, reflecting his commitment to sustainability and authenticity.
