Celebratory weeks ahead~this calls for champagne! A fun and fresh Blanc de Noir? Yes please! Elise Dechannes, from the Aube region in Champagne works in a fairly natural way in the vineyard - some years, she does not apply any copper and sulfur to the vines. Vinfications and aging are in stainless steel tanks, oak and clay amphoras. Most of her champagnes are without dosage. Essentielle is 100% Pinot Noir from Les Riceys and is delightfully bright and fresh, serious but not too serious…
A relatively unknown domaine, Michael Le Guellec, along with his friend Arnaud Ducouet took over the winemaking from Michael’s grandfather in 2018. With winemaking overseen by Pierre Millemann, the wines are luscious and elegant, a grower destined to become one of the must-haves of Gevrey-Chambertin.Their wines are typical of Gevrey-Chambertin: rich, flavoursome, powerful and muscular, yet with incredible finesse. Pinot Noir that can only come from one place on earth. For now, they are only making wines from the Clos Champ (planted in 1930) and Les Jeunes Rois (planted in 1965) vineyards.
