SOIL AND WINE:
Meuniers from the Vallee de la Marne, with Mareuil le Port as their setting; its flesh, clay-marl soil, and fossilized shells offer Rive Gauche great textural complexity.
An old vine planted in 1969 on the Maisoncelle plot, a mid-slope terroir with northern exposure, is complemented by a steep parcel on La Cote aux Chataigniers.
This cuvee is indulgent, with a salmon-hued robe and aromas reflecting excellent grape maturity.
The wine is very expressive, with a full and ample texture on the palate. The ensemble enchants, and the effervescence is exuberantly lively.
The finish is saline with refreshing bitters.
