The NV Champagne Grand Cru (GC22) expresses a distinctly reductive character, a quality Prevost attributes to the wine's extended contact with its fine lees in a reductive environment until the moment of bottling. It comes entirely from the 2022 vintage and is crafted from an equal blend of estate-owned Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, sourced from a 0.28-hectare parcel planted in the 1980s using massal selection, and Pinot Noir from Puisieulx, acquired from another grower, with the harvest timing decided collaboratively. The wine opens with aromas of toast, pear and flinty smoke. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, luminous and precise, culminating in a saline, long finish. Disgorged in October 2024 with a dosage of 2.5 grams per liter, this is a brilliant iteration of the cuvee that, despite its Pinot Noir component, flirts stylistically with the white Burgundy - albeit with bubbles.
