Charlie Seppelt and Skye Salter crossed paths as fresh-faced, aspiring winemakers back in 2008 at Hardy’s Tintara in McLaren Vale. Their bond blossomed over late-night shifts, secret midnight coffees, and a shared passion for all things wine.
After countless vintages together, both locally and abroad, they realized their hearts belonged to McLaren Vale. So, they bid farewell to the nomadic life and decided to lay down roots.
Their journey led them to Port Willunga, a charming seaside haven nestled in the heart of McLaren Vale wine country, where the days seem endless and glasses are always full.
With a whopping 46 vintages between them worldwide, the time had come to create something of their own. Thus, Paralian Wines was born.
Selecting the perfect sites for each grape variety, they ventured to the northern reaches of McLaren Vale, where ancient inland seas once flowed, leaving behind sandy shores ideal for their beloved Grenache and Shiraz.
For Charlie and Skye, site and vintage expression are paramount. They collaborate closely with growers to ensure every grape is harvested at its peak, capturing the essence of balance and varietal character. Their motto? Less is more when it comes to winemaking. Cheers to their exciting journey ahead!
