The Domaine Naigeon, though ancient by Burgundy standards, remained modest until the current generation. After 1945, Pierre Naigeon named the domain, now managed by his grandson, also Pierre. Until 2005, it comprised just two hectares of two grand crus. However, in 2006, Domaine Pierre Naigeon expanded dramatically with 9 additional hectares.
Elden Wine first encountered Pierre Naigeon's wines during this period. Pierre, driven by passion, pursued winemaking after studying at Beaune’s Wine High School. Today, the Domaine spans over 11.5 hectares with 50 plots, averaging 50-year-old vines, ensuring high-quality wines.
In addition to estate vineyards, Pierre Naigeon sources premium fruit from various Burgundy appellations, producing over 25 different single-vineyard wines. Vinified and bottled separately, the wines reflect the terroir's pure expression, using traditional methods without fining or filtration.
The Domaine prioritizes vineyard care and sustainability, with manual pruning, limited use of organic fertilizers, and natural pest control. Vinification includes cold maceration and natural fermentation, followed by oak barrel aging.
Red and white wines undergo natural fermentation without cultured yeasts, aged on lees for optimal flavor development. The Domaine's commitment to quality is evident in its meticulous winemaking practices, ensuring each bottle reflects Burgundy's terroir and Pierre Naigeon's passion.
