The Dietrich family has been farming in Scherwiller's Bas Rhin region since the 1600s. It wasn't until Yves Dietrich, the current generation's dad, shifted the focus to grapes. They went organic in 1999 and, happy with the outcome, moved to Biodynamics just four years later. Nowadays, their 18.5 hectares of grapes and 6 hectares of cherry and plum trees are all Demeter-certified biodynamic. In 2016, Yves passed the torch to his sons Jean and Pierre, who decided it was time for the Domaine to start bottling its own production. And so, Achillee (French for yarrow) was born. The family's magic really happens in the vineyards, where their meticulous attention to detail and commitment to biodynamic farming shine through.
