In 2017, Fiona Leroy decided to dive headfirst into winemaking and started her own estate in the hills of Maranges, a quiet corner of Burgundy that stole her heart. Tucked away in the village of Dezize-les-Maranges, her small but mighty 2.7-hectare vineyard is the result of passion, persistence, and a little luck.
Fiona works closely with her vines, and she means that literally. Everything is done organically, with a touch of biodynamics, all out of respect for the land, the vines, and the wildlife that call it home. She’s all about nurturing rather than forcing, and she takes pride in being part of one of humanity’s oldest traditions: growing vines with purpose.
Fiona believes that each vineyard plot has its own voice. Her job? To listen. She spends most of her days among the vines, pruning carefully using the Guyot Poussard method, which protects the natural sap flow and boosts vine health.
She’s not into industrial farming or cookie-cutter wines. Her philosophy is simple: keep things honest. That’s why everything is farmed organically, harvested by hand, and transported in small boxes to keep the grapes happy and intact. No machines. No shortcuts. Just skilled hands and sharp eyes.
