Domaine Jean-Marc Millot is a Burgundian delight. These are wines with such a joyful drinkability that deserve a place in most collectors' cellars. The wines are detailed and transparent and are mostly kept on the cool side, with a fine freshness and expression of terroir.

Since 1992, Jean-Marc Millot has been growing grapes and bottling his own wines. This domaine is located in the village of Nuits-St.-Georges and owns some of the best vineyard sites in Vosne-Romanee including three grands crus Grands Echezeaux, Echezeaux, and Clos Vougeot as well as one of the top premier cru Les Suchots. In 2014, Jean-Marc's daughter, Alix, joined the domaine. She took on the responsibility of vineyard management and winemaking. The farming here is organic, and the vines are very old with the average age being 50 plus years old. Thus, the wines produced are concentrated with a long length.
For the winemaking, the cellar is kept very cold promoting a slow fermentation. And elevage takes approximately twelve to sixteen months. The resulting wines are juicy displaying purity of fruit and in a drinkable style while also offering complexity and depth.
The Falques is ripe, lively in a satisfyingly chewy style. Les Suchots is fine and fragrant with some spiciness, and layered, round and opulent on the palate. Clos Vougeot is reserved with a lot of depth, good fruit and fine, very Clos Vougeot tannins, minerality and length. It's for longer cellaring. Echezeaux is fragrant, fine, full and silky and full of flavour. The Cuvee 1949 is, as you might expect, from a single parcel of vines in the Echezeaux du Dessus lieu-dit, planted in 1949, so very special. Grands Echezeaux shows richness and opulence, in a plump softer style.
